2018 chevrolet silverado 1500 – Chevy’s all-new 2019 Silverado 1500 LT Trail Boss has been recreated out of LEGO bricks in time of a Detroit Auto Show unveiling and in partnership with Warner Bros. Pictures.
The LEGO truck is full-sized and was built by Chevrolet together with students from the Oxford Community School’s First LEGO League and Detroit’s Ralph Waldo Emerson Elementary’s A World in Motion Program. More than 2,000 hours were needed in order to finish the project.
What do the numbers look like?
The LEGO Silverado stands 72 inches (1.8 meters) high, 240 inches (6 meters) long and 96 inches (2.43 meters) wide, weighing approximately 3,307 lbs (1,500 kg). Builders (18 of them) used a total of 334,544 LEGO bricks, each of them hand-selected and placed by a specially trained individual.
As for which type of LEGO brick was most commonly used, it was the red 2×8 stud brick. Oh and the truck also comes with unique working lights and graphic details.
Meanwhile, a custom and much smaller Silverado High Country will make an appearance in the new animated big-screen adventure “The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part”, which debuts in theaters on February 8.
“Chevrolet is once again thrilled to be working with Warner Bros. to integrate the brand and one of our most iconic products – Silverado – into ‘The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part,” stated Chevy Trucks marketing boss, Sandor Piszar. “The themes of determination and teamwork in the new movie align perfectly with our Chevy brand values and we are sure that the all-new Silverado has the features, technologies and strength that would help Emmet, Lucy and their friends as they take on exciting new challenges.”
