In redesigning its full-fledged Silverado pickup for 2019, Chevrolet cautiously continued. The styling is not quite as staid as it was last time, but also not very daring. Mix the developed materials, but not revolutionary, and the landing gear and suspension have been updated rather than reconsidered. While there are changes in the engine compartment, they are on the periphery, with a 2.7-litre turbocharged four as a new engine for some models, and a six-cylinder turbo diesel coming to market soon with the mixture. Traditional V-8s are again the real state mutter candle and come in two sizes: 5.3 and 6.2 liters. The latter is the largest engine offered in half a tonne pickup, aimed at buyers who adhere to the principle that there is no replacement for the displacement.
The smooth drive makes this pickup a vibrant, spacious taxi and cargo hold.
Don’t drive almost as well as other more expensive trucks, top luxury trim scored just a medium luxury interior.
Silverado’s large V-8 means that a large number of
Apart from cylinder deactivation programming, the absorbent 6.2-litre V-8 produces largely unchanged than the previous Silverado. Sitting at the top of a six-sport leather, it’s exclusive to the high-litre and high-litre LTZ models, which are an optional upgrade ($2495) over the 5.3-litre V-8 and only available with all-wheel drive. The 420 horsepower and torque of 460 lb-ft earn not only 5.0-litre and Ram 5.7-litre Behi, but also Toyota’s and Nissan 5.6 5.7 bars. None of these engines can monster 400 horsepower, and the closest competing torque is the 410 lb-ft. Ford’s safari power double turbo 3.5-litre boot turbo with 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft is new to the F-150, but it’s exclusive to the limited edition model available.
Surprisingly, the 6.2-litre SSilverado’s numbers perhaps do that faster than its V-8 rivals. This all-wheel drive crew-cabin High Country lunch from zero to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds, beating similarly configured versions of the F-150 Platinum V-8 (5.9 seconds), the Hemi-powered Ram Laramie (6.1 seconds) and the tundra 5.7-liters (6.4 seconds). The quarter-mile time of 13.9 seconds at 100 mph train also the V-8 range, with the Ford the closest with 14.4 seconds and others further back. The EcoBoost-powered F-150 is limited but is even faster, hitting 60 mph in 5.1 seconds and vanquishing the quarter-mile in 13.7 at 102 mph.
The 6.2 is more meaningful faster than the 5.3-liter V-8, which should pull 6.1 seconds of first 60 mph 14.7 seconds with a Silverado and complete a quarter-mile. The 6.2-litre was also worth a slightly higher rating for this truck than under the £5.3 9300, although a valuation of up to £12.200 is possible with the 6.2 versus 11.600 with the 5.3 litre. But this large-scale ousted V-8 has a big personality. The engine is feel, but not much heard, except if you really open, and then the sound is more induction ROAR than its conspicuous burst. Frankly, the 5.7-litre Hemi has a significantly richer V-8 soundtrack.
